About Javi

Javi was born in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain, where he spent much of his early childhood before eventually moving to New Haven, Connecticut, his mother's hometown. It was here, in the years that followed, that his artistic sensibilities began to take shape, deeply influenced by the contrast between the stillness of the natural world and the restless energy of the city.

Growing up in Connecticut, Javi was surrounded by dense forests, rolling mountains, and long stretches of coastline where the land seemed to dissolve into the Atlantic. Yet just over an hour away lay New York City, a world entirely its own. A place of towering buildings and infinite languages, of unfamiliar aromas drifting out from open storefronts, of the wind brushing against his face as he made his way across the Brooklyn Bridge, with the Manhattan skyline rising in the distance, and the restless pulse of the city unfolding all around him. Music spilled from passing cars, open windows, and crowded streets, shifting in rhythm and character from one borough to the next. Museums and galleries offered seemingly endless encounters with art, each carrying its own history, language, and way of seeing the world.

Despite growing up across the Atlantic, Javi returned to Spain every summer, a ritual that has remained a constant throughout his life. Much of this time was spent on his grandmother's finca, wandering the land with the family's ever-present pair of dogs never far from his side, picking fruit from the trees scattered across the property, and stopping, quite literally, to smell the roses growing beneath the Spanish sun. These summers offered a different rhythm of life, one rooted in simplicity, familiarity, and a closeness with the natural world.

Now based in Berlin, Germany, Javi works across music, visual art, and independent cultural projects. Under the name DPM Javi, his musical practice encompasses electronic music production and vinyl DJing, with a particular affinity for techno, house, and the spaces that exist between them. He graduated from Loyola University New Orleans in 2024 with a degree in Music Industry Studies.

Alongside his musical and visual work, Javi is the co-founder of Unlimited Euphoria, an independent record label and collective established in New York City in 2025 with Roger Baldwin. Today, the project operates between Berlin and New York, with Javi overseeing its Berlin operations and Roger continuing its presence in NYC. He also runs Esquina de Luz (@esquinade.luz), an independent music, art, and media outlet dedicated to exploring and sharing the artists, sounds, spaces, and ideas that resonate with him.

This portfolio brings together a selection of Javi's graphic design work, spanning record sleeves, event flyers, visual identities, editorial pieces, and other explorations born from curiosity and experimentation. His visual language draws heavily from photography, bringing it into conversation with typography, texture, and other artistic mediums to create compositions that feel both cohesive and unexpected.

Javi also collaborates with independent artists, record labels, collectives, festivals, clubs, and cultural projects, translating ideas into visual forms that reflect the character and spirit behind them.
